About Noa Weinreb

Performer. Educator. Arts Administrator.

Noa Weinreb is an oboist and music educator based in Baltimore. Passionate about performing, recording new works, and teaching, she is dedicated to sharing her love of music with audiences and students alike.

As a performer, Noa has appeared with ensembles such as the North Carolina Symphony, where she played solos in Bizet’s Carmen Suites, and the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra as a substitute oboist. While studying at Indiana University, Noa regularly performed with the conservatory's concert and chamber orchestras. Additionally, Noa played English horn in Indiana University’s PBS-recorded production of The Nutcracker. An avid chamber musician, she has played oboe in numerous small ensembles, including two wind quintets, and has collaborated on projects ranging from film recordings to premieres of works by living composers.

Noa has been featured in masterclasses with Elaine Douvas, Nathan Hughes, and Katherine Needleman. She has also attended festivals such as National Music Festival, Monteux School, and Eastern Music Festival, where she played The Rite of Spring with the faculty orchestra.

As a teacher, Noa is committed to fostering a lifelong love of music in her students. She offers both oboe and English horn lessons and specializes in teaching reed making to both developing and advanced students.

Noa is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Oboe Performance at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, studying with Melissa Hooper. She received her bachelor's degree in Oboe Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where she studied with Linda Strommen.
